Privacy Policy

How we collect, use and protect your personal information.

Last updated: 24 August 2026

1. Who we are

This site is operated by Ready Design and Technology Ltd, trading as ReadyTec, a company registered in England and Wales under company number 06585377, with its registered office at Perch Studios, Franklins House, Wesley Lane, Bicester, Oxfordshire, England, OX26 6JU.

We are the data controller for the information described in this policy. If you have any questions about it, or about how we handle your information, contact us at support@readytec.co.uk or on 01869 866555.

2. The information we collect

Information you give us

When you complete the enquiry form on our contact page, or email or call us, we collect the details you choose to provide. That typically includes your name, company name, email address, telephone number and the content of your message.

Information we collect automatically

Our web server keeps standard access logs, which record the IP address of the visiting device, the pages requested, the date and time, and the browser and operating system reported.

This site also runs our own analytics, built into the content management system that publishes it. It records which pages are viewed, the page you arrived from, and any campaign tags in the web address you followed. To count a visit only once, it stores two randomly generated identifiers in your browser: one that lasts only until you close the tab, and one that persists until you clear your browsing data. Neither contains your name or any detail you have given us, and neither is shared with an advertising network. This is first-party analytics only — we do not use Google Analytics, and we run no advertising or cross-site tracking of any kind.

Section 8 explains how to refuse or remove this, and our Cookie Policy lists each item by name.

Information from remote support sessions

If you start a remote support session from our Get Support page, our remote access provider records technical session details such as the connecting IP address, the machine name, and the start and end time of the session. A session can only begin with a code issued by one of our technicians and with your active consent, and it ends when you close the application.

3. Why we use your information, and our lawful basis

What we use it forLawful basis
Responding to an enquiry you have sent usLegitimate interests — replying to someone who has contacted us
Providing IT support, and administering our servicesPerformance of a contract with you or your employer
Delivering a remote support sessionPerformance of a contract, and your consent when you enter the session code
Understanding how the website is used, so we can improve itYour consent, given through the cookie banner
Keeping our website secure and availableLegitimate interests — protecting our systems from misuse
Meeting our accounting and legal obligationsLegal obligation

We do not send marketing email unless you have asked us to. If we ever do, every message will carry a one-click unsubscribe link.

4. Who we share it with

We host this website on our own infrastructure, so no third-party hosting company holds the site or its server logs.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for anyone else's marketing. We do share it with a small number of suppliers who process it on our behalf, under contract and only on our instructions:

  • Microsoft 365 — our email provider, which carries and stores our correspondence.
  • ScreenConnect (ConnectWise) — which provides the remote support platform.
  • Google — which serves the fonts used across this site, and the map embedded on our contact page.
  • jsDelivr — a content delivery network that serves the icon set used across this site.
  • Elfsight — which displays our Google reviews on the home page.
  • Cookiebot (Usercentrics) — which records your cookie choices.

Where a supplier serves a file to your browser — fonts, icons, a map, a review panel — your device contacts that supplier directly, and your IP address is visible to them as a result. We do not send them anything else about you.

We may also disclose information where we are required to by law, or to establish or defend a legal claim.

5. Sending information outside the UK

Some of the suppliers above may process personal data outside the United Kingdom. Where that happens, we rely on the UK Government's adequacy regulations, or on the International Data Transfer Agreement (or the UK Addendum to the EU Standard Contractual Clauses), to keep your information protected to a UK standard.

6. Keeping your information secure

We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect personal information, including encrypted connections to this website, access controls on our systems, and multi-factor authentication on our business accounts. No transmission over the internet can be guaranteed completely secure, but we take reasonable steps to reduce the risk.

7. How long we keep it

We keep personal information only for as long as we need it for the purpose we collected it for, and then delete it or archive it securely. Rather than fix an arbitrary period for everything, we judge it against what the information is for:

  • Enquiries — kept while there is a realistic prospect of working together, and cleared once there is not.
  • Customer records and correspondence — kept for the life of our agreement with you, and afterwards for as long as we may need them to answer a question or defend a claim.
  • Accounting and tax records — six years after the end of the financial year they relate to, because the law requires it.
  • Website server logs and analytics records — kept only while they remain useful for keeping the site secure and understanding how it is used.
  • Remote support session records — kept while they are useful for supporting you.

8. Your rights

Under UK data protection law you have the right to ask us to:

  • give you a copy of the personal information we hold about you;
  • correct information that is wrong or incomplete;
  • delete information we no longer have a good reason to keep;
  • restrict how we use your information, or object to us using it, where we rely on legitimate interests;
  • transfer your information to another provider, where you provided it and we process it by automated means; and
  • withdraw your consent at any time, where we rely on consent — including your cookie choices, which you can change at any time from our Cookie Policy page.

To exercise any of these, email support@readytec.co.uk. We will respond within one month. There is no charge, unless a request is manifestly unfounded or excessive.

9. Cookies and similar technologies

This site stores a small amount of information on your device — both for our own analytics and through content embedded from the suppliers listed in section 4. Our Cookie Policy explains exactly what is stored, by whom, on which pages, how long it lasts, and how to control it.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top of this page shows when it was last revised. Where a change materially affects how we use your information, we will tell affected customers directly.

11. How to complain

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, please tell us first at support@readytec.co.uk, so we have the chance to put it right.

You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office, the UK's data protection regulator, at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint or on 0303 123 1113.
